Meet Jason
Hi! My name is Jason Porter. I was born and raised in Martinsville, Indiana. Now I live on the south side of Indianapolis with my beautiful wife - and sometimes assistant - Katelyn and our Chocolate Lab (Quinn) and American Staffordshire Terrier mix (Cali).
I'm a son, brother, husband, sports fan - go Blackhawks! - standup comedy fan, coffee drinker, Dr. Pepper addict, and constantly in search of the best BBQ. My wife will tell you that I'm fun, relaxed, dedicated, hard working, focused, and always ready to share a beer at the end of the day.
Photography and visual media wasn’t exactly my first calling. In fact, after high school I went to a trade school to learn sound design and audio recording so I could work in a recording studio or at concerts.

But, as life would go, a new opportunity came along and I began teaching percussion for Martinsville High School. That lead to working with a second high school and eventually helping form a WGI Independent World percussion ensemble called Legacy Indoor Percussion.
It was while I was working with these performing arts groups that I began to develop the itch for video production. I would shoot videos during rehearsals that were used to promote the ensembles and feature ensemble members and staff.
Naturally, shooting video lead straight to shooting still photos. But I didn’t jump head first into photography until I had the opportunity to borrow my uncle’s camera and head to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to check out sports cars testing on the newly built road course. That was when the love of photography really gripped me.
I knew I needed to follow this new found passion in photo and video. So, at 27 years old…and after 10 years of teaching percussion…I enrolled at Ball State University and joined the digital sports production program called Ball State Sports Link. In this program I found my calling and my true passion for video and photography. But Ball State also lead me to find a new love…TV broadcasting. The program I was in would broadcast a handful of Ball State sports per semester and on these broadcasts I would work as a camera operator or replay operator.
Now I have the absolute perfect embodiment of three aspects of media that I have come to love. I thrive in an environment where you only get one chance to nail “the money shot.” The adrenaline rush of being in a situation where everything is moving quickly and changing every second has made me very adaptable to whatever situation I’m in.
I strive to use my passion for production to capture moments, stories, and emotions that showcase who you are and what you're all about. I bring enthusiasm, passion, and excitement to every project I work on.
With me, you’re more than a client - you’re family!
That’s my motto and what I stand by. I want you to share your vision, your opinions, and feel as welcome with me as you would be at your family’s home. And by the end of our time together, I want you to be a friend!
